Chief Donald Sabo
Salisbury Township Police Department
Chief Sabo has been with the Salisbury Township Police Department since April of 2001. He was not new to emergency services and was a paramedic and firefighter prior to starting with Salisbury. He started as a patrol officer and transitioned to juvenile officer and then the first School Resource Officer for Salisbury Township School District. He also was appointed the Township Fire Marshal in 2005 to investigate the origin of fires. Promoted to Sergeant in 2009, he started the QRS program for Salisbury Township Police. Once moved to the criminal investigation unit he continued to supervise the QRS, Fire Inspector Program, and Detectives. His last held position prior to chief was administrative Sergeant coordinating all aspects of the back end of the police department along with grants and purchasing. He was promoted to Chief of Police on November 1st, 2022.
Chief Sabo has a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice administration and graduated from Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command. He holds many commendations in the police department and also has the FBI Trilogy award for supervision. He continues to keep his certifications as a paramedic, fire investigator, fire inspector, and emergency management staff member to assist in all aspects of emergency services in Salisbury Township.
The chief believes in strong community relationships and strives to create and maintain those bonds with the community, youth, schools, and all residents of the township that we serve.
