Junior Hunting Application Walking Purchase Park

TOWNSHIP OF SALISBURY LEHIGH COUNTY, PA

NOTICE TO HUNTERS

 

Hunting at Walking Purchase Park in Salisbury Township is permitted only under the following conditions:

 

  1. Only "Archery" (use of bow and arrows) hunting shall be permitted unless hunters are participating in the "Junior Hunting Program."
  2. Possession and use of rifles is prohibited on all Township property at all times.
  3. Only the use of shotguns shall be permitted in the designated and posted area of Walking Purchase Park in Salisbury Township during the approved hunting seasons established by the Pennsylvania Game Commission and when a junior hunter and their eligible adult sponsor are participating in the "Junior Hunting Program,"
  4. Hunters shall have and display the appropriate Commonwealth of Pennsylvania hunting license and shall abide by all of the Pennsylvania Game Laws and Township Ordinances.
  5. Hunters/sponsors shall register with the Salisbury Township Police Department, provide all required information, comply with all rules set forth in the established guidelines and obtain and display the appropriate permits,
  6. Each hunter/sponsor shall complete a Township Hunting Permit Application at the beginning of each designated hunting season, upon issuance of a Hunting Permit, such Permit shall be valid during the length of each designated hunting season. A copy of the Township Hunting Permit shall be carried on the person of each hunter/sponsor while hunting on Township property and said document shall be displayed, upon request of the Salisbury Township Police, Township officials and/or PA Game Commission.
  7. Littering, camping, fire building and the removal of plants, trees, artifacts, rocks, or minerals of any type Is prohibited at all times on the Township property.
  8. Vehicles are prohibited in the area beyond the gate and railroad tracks at Walking Purchase Park. Vehicles shall be parked legally in the parking lots or along Constitution Drive.
  9. Hunting on Salisbury Township property is a privilege that may be rescinded at any time for cause. Enter and hunt at your own risk. Salisbury Township is not responsible for your personal safety or for any injuries sustained while on Township property. Salisbury Township is not responsible for damage to or theft of your personal property.

Warning: Walking Purchase Park are multi-use parks. Hikers and joggers may be using the parks during normal hours of operation. Please use caution at all times in permitted areas.

Registration applications are accepted starting the second week in September.

HUNTING PERMITTED IN WALKING PURCHASE PARK DESIGNATED JUNIOR HUNTING AREA WITH SHOTGUN ONLY.
Hunting on Salisbury Township property is a privilege that may be rescinded at any time for cause.

WALKING PURCHASE PARK IS A MULTI-USE FACILITY. 
INDIVIDUALS MAY BE HIKING AND JOGGING IN THE AREA. 

 

  • Enter and hunt at your own risk.
  • Salisbury Township is not responsible for your personal safety, any injuries that you may sustain or any damage to or theft of your personal property while you are on Township property
  • Only Deer Hunting Permitted in Walking Purchase Park in the designated Junior Hunting Area with Shotgun Only.
  • All hunters shall report all deer kills to the Salisbury Township Police: 610-797-1447
  • WARNING: Walking Purchase Park are multi-use facilities where individuals may be hiking and/or jogging in the area.
  • Hunting on Salisbury Township property is a privilege that may be rescinded at any time for any cause.

RELEASE AND WAIVER OF LIABILITY AND EXPRESS ASSUMPTION OF THE RISK

It is expressly understood that any person entering upon such lands enters at his or her own risk, impliedly accepts such lands in the existing conditions, and recognizes that all hunting is potentially dangerous because of the use of bow and arrows, shotguns, and/or because of hunters of varying degrees of proficiency. In consideration for permission to hunt and participate in the Bow and Arrow Hunting Program at Walking Purchase Park in Salisbury Township, Lehigh County, PA from start date to end date, the undersigned applicant, as the authorized supervising adult (hereinafter referred to as "Releaser"}, hereby releases, waives, discharges and covenants not to sue the Township of Salisbury, its officers, employees, and agents (hereinafter collectively referred to as the "Township"} for any loss or damage, and for any claims on account of personal injuries, death of any persons and/or damages to property, in any manner, arising or resulting from, caused by, connected with or related to the presence of any such person upon such land and premises, regardless of how, where, or when such injury, death and/or damage occurs even if caused by the negligence of Township, its agents, servants or employees, or due to conditions or operations on or defects in the premises. Release further agrees to indemnify and save and hold harmless the Township, its officers, employees, and agents and each of them from any loss, liability, damage, costs or reasonable attorney fees that may be incurred for any loss or damage, and for any claims on account of personal injuries, death of any persons and/or damages to property, in any manner, arising or resulting from, caused by, connected with or related to the presence of any such person upon such land and premises, regardless of how, where, or when such injury, death or damage occurs even if caused by the negligence of Township, its agents, servants or employees, or due to conditions or operations on or defects in the premises.

By signing this form, you hereby release from all claims and hold harmless the Salisbury Township Board of Commissioners, the Township Manager, the Chief of Police and all officers, employees and agents of the Township.
